Wolfhounds at the 17th Annual Bethabara Highland Games!
On Saturday, May 13th, the Winston-Salem Wolfhounds’ participated in the 17th Annual Bethabara Highland Games at Historic Bethabara Park in Winston-Salem, NC. The Wolfhounds put on a Hurling and Gaelic Football demonstration as a part of the athletic games, alongside Highland Games events like the hammer throw and caber toss. The day was a celebration of Celtic culture featuring food, music, and crafts from across the Atlantic. Winston-Salem’s traditional Irish band Góilín joined the Wolfhounds’ in the afternoon to provide the crowd with Irish song as the Wolfhounds’ worked to raise the profile of GAA athletics. The Winston-Salem Wolfhounds’ are participating in their first tournament, the All American Cup, Saturday, May 20 in Baltimore, MD.
