On July 25^th the Winston-Salem Wolfhounds GAA club will host our first Cup tournament at the Winston-Salem State University grounds. We are very excited to be hosting our first “unofficial” Gaelic Football Cup tournament in Winston-Salem. We love playing against Raleigh and Charlotte and we know they will be competitive games.

As we are a Junior C team we would prefer if both Raleigh and Charlotte would field their B teams OR at least as many B players as you have available. This will make for more competitive games.

There will not be a Cup available this year as this is our “unofficial” tournament but we will arrange to have a cup next year and will change the tournament format to follow both the James & Catherine O’Sullivan Memorial Cup & the Connolly Cup. We will also be able to accommodate both Raleigh’s & Charlotte’s A teams next year.

The tournament

• Will be a round robin format
• 20 minute halves & 10 minutes half-time
• The teams participating will be Raleigh B, Charlotte B and Winston-Salem
• The team not playing will provide 4 umpires and one referee
• Games will be
  • Game 1 @ 11.30am:  Winston-Salem Wolfhounds v Charlotte B
  • Game 2 @ 1.00pm:    Raleigh B v Winston-Salem Charlotte B
  • Game 3 @ 3.10pm:   Winston-Salem Wolfhounds V Raleigh B
• There will be NO ALCOHOL allowed on the WSSU campus. It is an alcohol free campus and this rule must be obeyed.

After-Party

• There will be an after-party held at the new Foothills Tasting Room on 3800 Kimwell Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27103 from 4.30
  • The bar is about 12-15 mins from the field
• We will be selling ‘Food+Drink’ tickets at the game. These tickets will cost $10 for three tickets and you will be able to get two draft beers (or soft drinks) and food
  • The food will consists of Hamburgers, Vegetarian Burgers, hot-dogs, sides & chips
    • E.g. you can get one burger OR two hot-dogs AND one side and chips
• If you don’t purchase the ‘Food+Drink’ tickets you can still get food at Foothills Tasting Room but a donation will have to be provide to club as we don’t have a license to “sell” food
