St. Patrick’s Day Update

What a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day celebration we had yesterday at the Foothills Brewing Tasting Room. The Pictures below will give you a little idea of what happen on the night. What the pictures don’t capture is the smells of freshly made soda breads, scones, cupcakes, Mint and chocolate fudge Oreo bars and much more.

The pictures also don’t capture the sounds of the talented Irish & American musicians who played on the night, namely, Killian, Beth, Bill, Jake, Emi, Fearghal, Cormac, Nick & Hunter. There were instruments like; the Violin, an bodhrán, the Guitar, the Concertina, the Mandolin, the Tin Whistle and the Uileann Pipes. The sounds were beautiful, enchanting and soothing to the ears of people young and old who had the pleasure to hear them. The music cut through the Winston-Salem night sky like a Hen Harrier in full flight after a prey…perfect, smooth and majestic.

Of course that set the stage for the singers who had got their fill of liquid courage to carry some traditional Irish melodies from the late 19th Century into the early 21st. Fearghal, Cormac, Bill, Jake, Joe & myself (Tim) all sharing the responsibility of serenading the remainder of the people still hungry for more traditional Irish culture.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved in yesterday’s celebrations from Foothills staff, to players to ticket buyers to people who just want to see what was going on. I did want to mention special thanks to a few individuals who really pulled more than their fair share:

  • Eric, Catherine & Zack – BEST Bar staff and friends we could ask for
  • Shawn & Jim – for manning the Irish Snack table, selling raffle tickets and just being all round AWESOME (as they say in the States)
  • All the musicians and singers – Killian, Beth, Bill, Jake, Emi, Fearghal, Cormac, Nick, Hunter, Joe, Tim, Barry, Rob, Denis and others…hopefully I haven’t forgotten anyone.
  • Jamie & Ray – for allowing us to take over the Tasting Room to fill it with Traditional Irish culture on a very special and important day in Ireland and the World.

We hope to replicate and improve upon this celebration annually, so please stay in touch with our website and social media for more on this and other events so you don’t miss out.
